Celebrating Tribeca Therapy’s 10th Anniversary, Matt in The New York Times and More of What Matt’s Writing

This month has been a big one for both Matt and Tribeca Therapy. Perhaps most importantly, Tribeca Therapy celebrates ten years of providing therapy in Tribeca this Friday. In honor of this meaningful anniversary, Matt wrote a personal blog post reflecting on the founding of Tribeca Therapy in 2009 and how it continues to expand today. The post considers how the practice’s creative approach to therapy fits into the Tribeca neighborhood, as well as the ways in which both its talented group of therapists and its patients have influenced its growth.

Matt has also been quoted in several publications, notably including The New York Times. In “Five Things I Wish I’d Known Before My Chronic Illness,” Matt discusses how being diagnosed and living with chronic illness not only affects people physically, but also emotionally. People dealing with chronic illness can struggle with trauma related to certain aspects of illness or treatment, anxiety around physical challenges, or grief in relation to dealing with this new reality.

Matt was also featured in Self Magazine’s “How To Know If Group Therapy Might Be Right For You.” In this article, Matt lays out how group therapy can be especially helpful, and the differences between not only individual and group therapy, but also support therapy and group. He also emphasized how consistency in group therapy is key to its success.

Matt also spoke to several publications about finances, using his expertise as both a financial therapist and financial couples therapist. In Yahoo Finance, Matt explored how the stress and anxiety of tax season can wear on you, giving some tips on fighting the urge to procrastinate with taxes. More recently, he also talked to HerMoney about how financial secrets can threaten relationships and how couples can work to be more open with each other on the subject of money.
